Alternative energies: the trucks of today and tomorrow

Rent an alternative energy bus

Against a national political backdrop in which diesel-powered trucks are more than ever regarded as the "enemy", the commercial vehicle market is gearing up to welcome some ground-breaking models. Introducing.

China is on the offensive in the field of electric vehicles, and is now conquering the world: after the United States, BYD has set its sights on Europe. Originally a battery manufacturer, it is no longer confined to buses and coaches. Built with an Isuzu cab, the BYD T6 with 7.5 t GVW Lithium Ion Iron Phosphate batteries is already being distributed in Spain. The Chinese company's ambition is to renew it with a BYD cab at the next IAA 2020 show in Hanover. Opposite him will be the Fuso eCanter with 7.49 t GVW, now regularly sold in France via the dedicated rental subsidiary CharterWay. Another bus defector: the Irizar ieTruck. Previewed at the inauguration of the e-Mobility factory in Spain's Basque Country in spring 2018, it now has its definitive form. The first application is a refuse truck developed jointly with the FCC Group, scheduled for commercial release at the end of 2019. This is a 6×2/4 architecture with a payload of 18 t. The low-profile cab - like a Mercedes-Benz Econic, Renault Trucks D Access, Scania L series - is designed for 4 people. The first series includes a CNG-powered range-extending auxiliary unit. The 100% electric version is scheduled for 2020. The ieTruck will be marketed directly by Irizar's European subsidiaries (including Irizar France).
